Paul Prentiss is the Conservation Chair for Boulder Flycasters.  A specific blog has been created to deal with this topic as it relates to Boulder and Colorado’s Front Range….please click here.

Information concerning the Middle Boulder Creek Project can be found on our web site or click here.

Prior to the replacement  of the McGinn Ditch diversion in 2008, Larry Quilling took this video of rainbow trout trying to move up South Boulder Creek to spawn….none made it!

Take a look at the long history of Boulder Flycaster conservation projects.  The list is somewhat incomplete with a late 1990′s gap but we will fill in the 90′s history very soon.

  1. Where exactly is the McGinn Ditch diversion?

  2. I-25? Now I’m really confused. I thought this was on South Boulder Creek near Baseline and Valmont Reservoirs ? This is out near Longmont?

    • I said Boulder Creek & I-25. The diversion is upstream of where Baseline crosses the South Boulder Creek and roughly 50 yards downstream from the turnpike (highway 36) which I called I-25….have been staring at the computer screen too long!!
