Trout in the Classroom

We are proud to announce Boulder Flycasters has a Trout in the Classroom Program (TIC) at Centaurus High this fall in conjunction with Craig Weinhold, a science & engineering teach at the school.  Mr. Weinhold’s classroom  is within walking distance of Cold Creek where his classes have done aquatic stream studies in the past.  Students collect and identify organisms in the water and talk about stream ecology.  Craig teaches sophomores and juniors in three biology classes and two engineering classes, all of which will have the TIC program as part of their studies.  As well, there are several other biology teachers at Centaurus who will bring their students into the classroom to learn about TIC.  All said, a program with Craig’s leadership will expose over 200 students to the program.

One of their challenges has been having waders and nets for students to use.  If you have materials you would be willing to donate for their stream activities, please drop them off at either Front Range or Rocky Mountain Anglers  before Labor Day weekend.  It will be a very good surprise if we can outfit Craig’s students this fall.
