Boulder Flycasters Annual Meeting

We’re having our BFC annual meeting on November 16th. We’ve got some business to take care of at this meeting but we’ll also have speakers from national Trout Unlimited and the City of Boulder (and a board member) who are doing interesting projects in Boulder and Colorado. We’ll premium rods, reels and boxes of flies as door prizes at the end of the night.
BUSINESS ITEMS
Vote on New Bylaws: we’ve had to revise our bylaws to conform to new standards required by TU. In the process, we streamlined the current bylaws. You can read the proposed new bylaws by clicking this link to our website: http://boulderflycasters.org/bylaws_history/index.htm We won’t be going over the bylaws in detail at the meeting, so please read them ahead of time so you make an informed vote.
Vote on Board of Directors: We’ll have some current members coming up for renewal and some new members. If you’d like to be nominated for board membership, write to Mark Riley, President at: markriley781@yahoo.com
State of the Chapter: We’ll review accomplishments from last year, present a financial review of the chapter and discuss key initiatives for fiscal year 2011/2012
PRESENTATIONS
Drew Peternell, Director of TU’s Colorado Water Project (which is part of TU’s Western Water Project) will present an overview of his group’s key conservation initiatives. TU does amazing work here in Colorado that we at the chapter level don’t often hear about. You’ll be impressed by all the work that is going on right under our noses! Don D’Amico, City of Boulder Open Space Ecologist and BFC Secretary will do a short presentation on the lower South Boulder Creek restoration that he led. The city recently completed this project and significantly improved stream habitat and fishing in our own backyard.

At the end of our night, we’ll have a door prize giveaway of several items, including a premium rod and reel set
